This is a poem written by 1 of "Big Bird's" grand daughters, Brittany. I thought I would share it with you all, with her permission of course.
"This poem is about a teddy bear that my aunt made everyone in my family. Everyone of his grandkids and kids got a teddy bear made out of a shirt he used to wear. He died in August and I loved him dearly. I hope you like it.
*TEDDY BEAR*
My teddy bear is blue
With brown button eyes.
Everytime I hug him
My entire body cries.
He sits upon my pillows.
I know my grandpas there too.
Now watching over me.
Is all that he can do.
I know that he still loves me.
And wants me to be strong.
To live my life to the fullest.
But to think of him my whole life long.
I miss him each and everyday.
And everytime my eyes fill with tears.
But then I remember all the good times
From childhood through all these years.
Grandpa, before you got sick
I never cried.
But when you passed on
I completely died."
