This is a poem written by 1 of "Big Bird's" grand daughters, Brittany. I thought I would share it with you all, with her permission of course.

"This poem is about a teddy bear that my aunt made everyone in my family. Everyone of his grandkids and kids got a teddy bear made out of a shirt he used to wear. He died in August and I loved him dearly. I hope you like it.

*TEDDY BEAR*

My teddy bear is blue
With brown button eyes.
Everytime I hug him
My entire body cries.

He sits upon my pillows.
I know my grandpas there too.
Now watching over me.
Is all that he can do.

I know that he still loves me.
And wants me to be strong.
To live my life to the fullest.
But to think of him my whole life long.

I miss him each and everyday.
And everytime my eyes fill with tears.
But then I remember all the good times
From childhood through all these years.

Grandpa, before you got sick
I never cried.
But when you passed on
I completely died."

~"Big Bird"~
I guess it doesn't get any easier as the days go by, it is so hard to believe you are gone. We've been to your grave, we've been to camp, we've been to your house, I've driven your truck, I've sat in your favorite chair, I've shared good laughs, cries, hugs and memories with your best friends and I can feel your presence everywhere we go. Billie, the boys & I miss you like crazy. I pray every day that you are now at peace with your beautiful wings up above watching down on us. As Billie & I sat with you & watched you slip away, we knew that He had a plan for one of the most wonderful people I have had the honor to know. Please give me the strength to raise your 3 grand sons of ours to be half the man you were.

May you rest in peace now & forever.
